Events:

 🇮🇪 Ireland hasbegun issuing its first remote licences for onlinebetting operators. From July 1, 2026, the Gambling Regulatory Authority ofIreland (GRAI) also assumes full enforcement powers to supervise the sector andcombat unlicensed gambling activities.

🇬🇧 The United Kingdom hasrelaxed its anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing ruleseffective from June 30, 2026. The changes limit the cases requiring mandatoryEnhanced Due Diligence, revise the approach to high-risk jurisdictions, andexpand the Trust Registration Service.

🇦🇪 The UAE hasenacted a new Civil Code, modernising contract law, recognising electroniccommunications, expanding parties' freedom to choose the applicable law, andlowering the age of full legal capacity to 18.

🇺🇦 Ukraine hasadopted a law on the taxation of income earned through digital platforms,implementing the DAC7 standards, introducing the automatic exchange ofinformation, improving tax rules, and simplifying reporting obligations fordigital platform operators.

🇭🇰🇨🇾 Hong Kong and Cyprus havesigned a Double Taxation Agreement providing for a reduced withholding tax rateon royalties of 3%, regulating the taxation of dividends, interest and businessprofits, and promoting cross-border investment once the agreement enters intoforce following ratification.
